Cathy Quinn From Superior National Forest Service Talks About BWCA Violations

Every year, wilderness rangers from the U.S. Forest Service on Superior National Forest hand out warnings and tickets to people who break the rules that are in place to “preserve the wilderness experience” across the Boundary Waters.

These violations range from people having illegal campfires, using motors in the wilderness, to bringing in cans or bottles. During the past 23 years, thousands of violations have occurred here in the most visited wilderness area in the nation: The Boundary Waters.

Joe Friedrichs from Paddle and Portage spoke with Cathy Quinn, the wilderness program manager on Superior National Forest, about this topic.
